The Investment Safeguarding Expert is responsible for minimizing risk to the company through operational excellence in processing and through detail orientation when comparing services provided by third-party companies to business plans, proposals, initiatives, and claims.

... - Build expertise in the third-party companies that provide services; the service names, descriptions and establish a range of costs based on proposals.
- Use knowledge of the third-party company and their services to establish whether a proposal or service will enable a partner to achieve their stated goals.
- Use judgment to evaluate whether the stated outcomes are achievable and whether the investment is appropriate for the initiative or campaign.
- Conduct audits to identify potential risks and issues associated with investment opportunities, third-party companies, and internal processes.
- Develop and implement controls to mitigate identified risks, monitor the effectiveness of the controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with other teams, such as Operations, Marketing, Partner Management, Compliance, and Finance, to ensure alignment and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Continuously review and improve processes and procedures to ensure operational excellence and cost-efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation to support investment safeguarding activities.

who we are looking for
- The Investment Safeguarding Expert will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a role where they demonstrate operational excellence, and carry out audits and systems thinking to design out flaws in the process.
- They will have experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with investment opportunities, third-party companies, and internal processes. Experience working in a multicultural, matrixed environment is also required.
- Process design and improvement: Ability to design, implement and improve processes and procedures to drive operational excellence.
- Controls design and implementation: Ability to design and implement effective controls to mitigate identified risks.
- Risk management: Ability to identify, assess and mitigate risks associated with investment opportunities, third-party companies, and internal processes.
- Analytical thinking: Ability to think analytically and make data-driven decisions.
- Excel, and data analytics tools: Strong proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Detail orientation: Ability to identify trends, patterns or spot anomalous data points with strong attention to detail.
- Customer-oriented: Ability to adopt an operational and audit-oriented mindset to problem-solving while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
- Communication skills: Confident and clear communicator with good written and spoken English (German & other local dialects are considered a bonus).
- Cultural awareness: Experience in a multicultural, matrixed environment, working with colleagues from across the world and in different time zones.
