The labor market stagnated in September after the summer unemployment increase. This reflects the traditional seasonal increase in labor market activity after the holidays and vacation period. Companies that postponed personnel changes during the summer due to vacations have started to recruit employees again. In addition, some companies are already starting to prepare for the autumn and Christmas season. This applies primarily to logistics companies, retail, warehouses and online stores, which are starting to recruit new employees to prepare for increased demand before the Christmas holidays. The long-term demand for blue-collar workers also continues.

Companies do not want to massively lay off workers because they fear that it will be difficult to find new workers in the future. Moreover, many employees do not want to change jobs unless forced to do so by circumstances such as low evaluation or employer problems, which also contributes to the overall stagnation of the market. Companies are primarily focused on optimizing their costs and carefully considering new recruitments.

A factor that counteracts the drop in unemployment is school graduates who finish the summer bridging period and report to the employment offices. Along with them, temporary workers whose summer jobs have ended.
